Organics Recycling

Bellefontaine has received their Organics Recycling Bin. Residents will need to deposit their food waste in the Organics Bin located in the upper garage to the left of the trash room. The Organics Bin will be emptied once a week.

There is a sign on the Organics Bin listing the items that can and cannot be placed in the bin. Additional guidelines have been provided below and enclosed.

Yes, put these in the Food Waste Bin!

• All fruits

• All vegetables

• All pastas, grains, rice, and beans

• All cooked meat, poultry, seafood, shellfish, bones, eggs, and egg shells

• All bread, coffee grounds & filters, cheese and pastries

• Parchment paper, kitchen paper towels, and soiled napkins

No, don’t put these in the Food Waste Bin!

• Oil and grease

• Plastic containers, bags, film & gloves

• Raw meat

• Cans and glass

• Packaging cardboard

• Paper and biodegradable plates, cups, and utensils

Please note: Compostable bags may not be discarded in the Organics Bin. Discarding unapproved items in the Organics Bin will render the contents contaminated and will result in penalty fees for the Association.
